When talking about Australia, everyone immediately thinks of Sydney or Melbourne, but when you discover Brisbane, I am sure you will surrender to the charm of this ideally sized city, friendly, sunny and increasingly cosmopolitan people.
When it comes to fun, my good friend, Aaron, owner of Pedleys Solar in Brisbane, always tells me this city stands out for the multitude of options offered.
This city is the third largest in Australia and the only one to have a subtropical climate in the country. Issues such as safety, health, employment opportunities and quality of life are some of the strengths there.
So, what is there to do while in Brisbane? I asked Aaron to give me his top 3 suggestions and this is what he told me.
1 – WALK THROUGH SOUTH BANK
This is the best place to go for a walk in the evening or in the morning during the weekend. One of the most touristic (and beautiful) spots in the city, the South Bank neighborhood is charming, both for its beauty and the variety of things to do.
The region is on the banks of the Brisbane River and has a nice artificial beach, where people usually sunbathe and exchange an idea. In addition, a huge ferris wheel completes the stage for perfect shots. If the idea is to take a tour with a more cultural footprint, South Bank is also the ideal place.
The GOMA (Gallery of Modern Art) museums and the Queensland Art Gallery share spaces with theaters, presentations and other activities that take place there. A more than complete tour!
2 – KANGAROO POINT CLIFF
Leaving South Bank and following the riverside you will arrive at Kangaroo Point, another delightful place to walk, ride a bicycle, have a picnic or just admire the Brisbane skyline. In fact, if you’re looking for a dash of adrenaline, get ready!
It is possible to rappel or climb the rock walls and also rent a kayak to navigate the river. In addition, those who enjoy a walk can climb to the top of the gorge by means of a staircase and enjoy the view. Without a doubt, this is the best view in the region!
The view from the top of the cliff is also very beautiful and very disputed at sunset! It has a staircase to go up and down, keep an eye out and don’t get discouraged!
3 – ENJOY A NIGHT OUT AT EAGLE STREET PIER
If you like a busy night, you can start calling Brisbane your new home. Life never stops there! There are many options for bars and nightclubs, but nothing compares to Eagle Street Pier. The region is also called the River Side and is one of the most popular in the city.
An excellent choice for making new friends or taking a walk with new exchange friends. It is right by the river and has activities for all tastes and budgets.
There are bars, pubs, restaurants and cafes. Unmissable!
I hope that this article helps you in a future visit to this city or maybe it helps you decide your next vacation destination. This is a nice video we found showcasing Brisbane – have a watch:
